The science of Daily Restore

Why two glasses hit harder than they used to.

It isn't in your head, and you don't have to quit. This page goes deeper than anywhere else on our site: what a night of drinking does to your body, hour by hour, why each ingredient is in 1 Daily Dose, and the full story of our 12-week study, week by week.

01 · A night with two glasses

What your body does while you sleep it off.

Two glasses of wine at dinner. Here's what happens next, and why you feel it in the morning.

  1. The first glass

Alcohol passes into your blood and on to your liver, which handles about 95% of what you drink.

  2. The second glass waits its turn

Your liver clears roughly one standard drink an hour. Anything beyond that keeps circulating until it can catch up.

  3. The real work starts

Your liver turns alcohol into acetaldehyde, a toxic compound, then breaks that down. It draws on glutathione, its main antioxidant, to do it.

  4. Wide awake

Alcohol can help you fall asleep, but as it wears off, sleep in the second half of the night gets lighter and more broken.

  5. You feel it

Heavier, foggier, slower to get going. Alcohol can also interfere with how you absorb B vitamins your brain and energy depend on.

Why it's harder now

As we get older, our bodies hold less water, so the same glass leads to a higher blood alcohol level, and we clear it more slowly. That's why two glasses can hit harder at 55 than they did at 30.

So why every day?

Most fixes show up after the damage. 1 Daily Dose is already there.

Several of Daily Restore's ingredients build up over time. Taking it every day, including days you don't drink, keeps the nutrients alcohol drains topped up, so your body isn't starting from empty when you do drink.

“Supplements hide how little is inside.”

Fair. Every ingredient is named on our label. The B vitamins are listed at full dose. The other seven share a 1,600 mg blend in every Daily Dose. Ingredient research shows why each one belongs; our own study, next, tested the finished formula. See the Supplement Facts

03 · Our study, week by week

Most people felt it within the first month.

40 adults who drink took 1 Daily Dose every day for 12 weeks and answered the same questions at the start and at weeks 4, 8 and 12. Here's how their answers moved.

“Couldn't people just feel better because they expected to?”

A fair question. That's why the study also took blood at the start and at week 12. Of the 24 people with both tests, 17 saw at least one liver enzyme (AST, ALT or GGT) come down. Most people started in a healthy range, so there was little room to move, and the group averages stayed there. GGT came down the most.

What comes next

The research company is locking the final data now. When the full report is ready, we'll publish it here, including every measure, not just the best ones.

04 · How to read your liver panel

Three numbers worth knowing.

Your doctor's routine blood work usually includes them. Here's what they mean, so the next report makes sense.

ALT

The liver's own signal

An enzyme found mostly in liver cells. When liver cells are under strain, more of it shows up in your blood.

AST

A wider signal

Found in the liver and also in muscle, so a hard workout before a test can nudge it up too.

GGT

The one alcohol moves most

Often rises with regular drinking and with some medications. It's on our at-home test.

Every lab prints its own normal range next to your result. Look at where you sit in that range, and how it changes from one test to the next.

07 · Questions about the science

The questions a careful buyer asks.

Was the study placebo-controlled?

No. Everyone took Daily Restore, and each person was compared with their own starting point. It shows what changed while people took the finished formula. Several ingredients have their own placebo-controlled trials, listed above.

What does “92% woke up refreshed more often” mean?

92% of participants answered that they woke refreshed more often at week 12 than at the start. It counts how many people improved, not how much each person improved. The charts above show how much.

Why benfotiamine instead of regular B1?

More of it reaches your body. In a human absorption study, benfotiamine delivered more thiamine than standard thiamine.

Does it work for everyone?

No supplement does. In our study, nearly everyone reported fewer next-day symptoms, and 17 of 24 people with blood tests saw at least one liver enzyme come down. If it isn't for you, our 180-day guarantee covers you, even on opened bottles.

Can I take it with my medications?

Bring the Supplement Facts to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask especially if you take medication for mood or sleep, because Daily Restore contains 5-HTP, which your body uses to make serotonin.

Judge it by your mornings, and your numbers.

Take 1 Daily Dose for 12 weeks. If you don't feel the difference, you have 180 days to get your money back, even on opened bottles.
