When I got into my 40s, I started thinking about my health differently. I have a wife, three kids and businesses to run. I wanted energy for them today, and I wanted to still be here, healthy, twenty years from now.

Like most adults I know, I still enjoyed a drink. Dinner with my wife, time with friends, a glass somewhere new when we travel. And like everyone, I kept seeing headlines about what alcohol does to the body. I didn't want to ignore them, and I didn't want to live in fear of them either. I wanted the truth, and real support.

What I found was hype. Products built for one night, full of junk, with nothing to show they worked. Some did absolutely nothing for me. Nobody was talking about long-term health, and nobody could prove anything.

In 2015 I started my own daily protocol. It worked well enough that I tried to raise seed money to build it into a product. But I was running other companies, and it had to wait.

Over the next years I wrote two books, started a podcast and talked with thousands of people about alcohol and their health. Executives, founders, teachers, nurses, retirees. They cared about their health, they wanted honest information, and they were tired of being judged or sold to.

When the time was finally right, with backing from my friend Jonathan Cronstedt, I launched Cloud9 and started formulating with doctors. Our standard was simple: clinical-level quality, care and trust. We put our formula through a 12-week clinical trial, and we added at-home blood testing so people can see their own numbers.

That's still the work. Helping people take care of the health that lets them enjoy their lives, with honesty instead of fear and proof instead of hype.
